Royal Decree No. 110/2015 on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE RD) was issued adapting Spanish regulations to Directive 2012/19/EU and Act No. 22/2011 on Waste and Contaminated Soil . The purpose of this Royal Decree is to reduce the generation of WEEE and batteries and to promote the prevention, reuse and valuation of electrical equipment, batteries and accumulators through the proper management of control measures for electrical equipment, batteries and accumulators in an effort to avoid harm to health negative impact on the environment. The WEEE RD and the Battery Act adhere to the principle of extended producer responsibility, so producers of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) , batteries and accumulators must bear the correct environmental costs . Manage future waste generated by the equipment it sells. Therefore, producers will implement the collection and management of waste generated by their electrical and electronic equipment , batteries and accumulators , and pay for the environmental management costs of their products when they become waste.

Who needs to register with the Spanish Battery Act ?

If a product is non-compliant, it will be affected by:

For Spanish WEEE, there is a fine for not registering with the Ministry of Industry. The penalty is to calculate the total sales volume and total weight of the products put into the market from the time the seller entered the Spanish market until now, calculate the unpaid fees and pay them back, and pay a certain amount of fines at the same time.
How do I register with the Spanish Battery Act ?
1. Submit the application form to become a member;
2. Submit the registration materials and sign the registration contract;
3. Wait for the registration to be completed, usually 1 week;
About declaration:
1. Report once every quarter. Before the 20th of the next month of the previous quarter, such as April 20, report the sales data from January to March. It is necessary to declare the quantity of WEEE put on the market in the previous quarter (number and Weight), submitted to the recycling company, which will declare on its behalf;
2. After the declaration is completed, the producer will receive a bill from the recycling company, and the producer must pay the recycling fee on a quarterly basis;

What do I need to do after registration is complete?
