Solution

Starting from May 27, 2024, Amazon Japan will implement new compliance policies for four categories of electronic and electrical products: projectors, ceiling lamps and chandeliers, low-temperature cookers, and electric blankets.

Sellers of related products are requested to upload relevant compliance documents to the Amazon platform before June 20, 2024, and they can only be sold after approval. After June 27, 2024, these four categories of products that do not comply with the updated compliance policy will be removed from Amazon Japan!

1、Projectors

● A projector is an electromechanical device that displays images or movies by projecting them onto a large screen or wall, and includes devices such as mobile projectors, laser projectors, and LCD projectors. If a projector comes with a USB power adapter or an AC adapter, the adapter is also subject to review. If a projector has a removable lithium-ion battery, it is also subject to review.

● Additionally, a projector equipped with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth (and if a controller is included, the controller as well) is subject to Radio Law. If a projector product includes a laser pointer, it also requires a document review under the Consumer Product Safety Act (PSC).

● Projector lights without an AV input terminal (such as an HDMI port, component port, DVI port, S-video port, or composite port) and automotive projectors are not subject to this policy.

2、Ceiling and pendant lights

● Ceiling lights: A ceiling light is a type of light fixture directly attached to the ceiling, and is used as a main light for living rooms and offices to brighten the whole room. If a ceiling fan is built into a ceiling light, it will require PSE-related documents as a combined product that contains a circulator and an electric light fixture.

● Pendant lights: A pendant light refers to a lighting fixture suspended from the ceiling using a cord or chain, excluding downlights and spotlights.

● A ceiling light or pendant light equipped with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth (and if a remote control is included, the control as well) is subject to document review in accordance with the Radio Law.

3、Low-temperature cookers

A low-temperature cooker, also known as an immersion circulator or sous vide cooker, is a cooking device that heats water to a specific temperature and then maintains it so the water gently cooks submerged foods that are encased in a bag. Additionally, a low-temperature cooker equipped with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth (and if a controller is included, the controller as well) is subject to the Radio Law.

4、Electric blankets

Anelectric blanket is a heating appliance that can be heated by electricity, which is usually worn or laid out. It includes electric lap blankets, foot heaters, or electric slippers. Electric blankets (or the accompanying USB plug or AC adapter, if included), are subject to inspection under the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law.
