On January 10, 2023, OEKO-TEX® International Environmental Protection Textile and Leather Association published the update of OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 on its official website, which respectively updated the monitored list, limited value list, SVHC and PFAS. Among them, four substances were removed from the monitored list and two substances were added; PFAS is updated according to the Revised Directive (EU) 2021/1297 of Appendix 17 of REACH issued on August 4, 2021, relate to perfluorinated carboxylic acids (C9-C14 PFCA) and salts and C9-C14 PFCA-related substances whose main chains contain between 9 and 14 carbon atoms. The new regulations for OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 come into effect on April 1, 2023 after a three-month transition period.
The specific updated contents of OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 are as follows:

- Start with 10 mg/kg limit value with a 1-year transition period for product categories II to IV. No transition period for product class I.
- PPE will get an exception of the total organic fluorine content.

Wet wipes
The pH-footnote was added to the OEKO-TEX ® STANDARD 100 to allow an exception in the pH range for wet wipes. The new accepted pH range for wet wipes is 3.5 - 7.5.
